Member Open Studio: Figure Drawing 4/15/2016
April 15, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm$8.00
Winter and Spring 2016 Sessions: January through May
The Georgetown Art Center is offering a 3 hour, twice a month “Open Studio” with a focus on figure drawing – dry materials. The Art Center will schedule a model for each session and there will be a volunteer (One of the artist participants) that will take a leadership role in managing the sessions and models.
Open studio means that each artist works independently, deciding whether to draw a figure, a face, an abstract rendition, … whatever. Artists can be at any level, from beginner to advanced, but there will be no “teaching.” Usually, there will a series of poses ranging in time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes, with an occasional pose that is longer.
Easels and stools will be available, but each artist must bring his or her own choice of “dry materials” (paper and board, pad, charcoal, hard pastels, colored pencils, conte, …) Tip: newsprint is most economical for the quick poses.
Who Can Participate?
Having an active membership to Georgetown Art Center is the primary requirement. We will start with 10 seats. The group will determine if more seats can be added.
The Figure Drawing – Open Studio will be on the First & Third Friday each month from 1 to 4 PM.
What is the Cost?
We ask the participants to share the cost of the model. A fee of $8.00 per participant will need to be paid during the registration process to reserve your seat.
If you reserve a seat and cannot attend the session, we ask you try to find a replacement. And notify the organizer. 7 days’ notice is required for a full refund. Send email to email@example.com
