Closed – for 2022 Season
Our exhibits are designed to stimulate conversation, inspire creativity and increase the understanding of art in the context of today’s society and our community. We coordinate additional programs with our exhibits. Our members and visitors are interested in exhibit-related artist talks and lectures (learning more about the artist and the art) and studio workshops (learning from the artists).
Georgetown Art Center accepts artist proposals annually through submittable.com, typically in the fall/winter. Our exhibits committee hosts a guest panel comprised of artists, educators, art supporters, and community members to review these online proposals. The group provides a range of cultural and personal perspectives to the Georgetown Art Center’s exhibition development process. It offers valuable insight which aids in planning our upcoming exhibition calendar.

Exhibits
Concepts, themes, mediums, collaborations, and local activities drive many of the exhibits that fill the calendar each year. Our exhibits committee takes the lead for determining which themes and concepts would warrant a juried show and which are focused on a few artists works.
Juried exhibits typically have a call for art 4 months in advance and will be highlighted on a link on this page, in local advertisements, and via social media.
Annual Art Hop
Annually, we host Art Hop, in our main gallery and the galleries of the Georgetown Library in October each year. Art Hop is our largest, juried show with cash prizes and features hundreds of art works from Texas artists in multiple categories. You can view typical categories and see examples of our Artist directory for 2019 and 2020.
